Leadership Development
Do you aspire to be a spiritual leader?
At Refuge Church, our Leadership Development has two primary stages.
At Refuge Church, our Leadership Development has two primary stages.
- The first stage consists of meeting with the Pastor's of Refuge Church and walking through a book that they have selected. Throughout this process one must bear the responsibility of reading the chapters necessary, showing up to all the mandatory meetings, and participating in the discussions that happen during each meeting. Along with this, the individual must adhere to the Refuge Church Leadership Covenant, which will be provided during the orientation. Church members will have a week to read the covenant, reflect over it, and then sign the covenant.
- The second stage consists of a residency program we do, partnered with the North American Mission Board. This stage in the leadership is more rigorous than the first. The first stage requires monthly meetings, whereas the second stage requires weekly meetings that go on for a multitude of months (often even early in the morning). Each meeting may have required homework, writing, reading, discussions, field work, etc... Just like the first stage in our leadership development, the individual must maintain adherence to the Refuge Church Leadership Covenant.
Disclaimers:
- One must be an official member of Refuge Church Nola in order to participate in the Leadership Development.
- Finishing the Leadership Development, both stage 1 and 2, does not make you an official leader at Refuge Church. The leadership development is meant to grow you and will help prepare you to pursue leadership roles, either at Refuge Church or somewhere else if God may lead you to do so.
- There are more disclaimers to be found on the Refuge Church Leadership Covenant.
